You could just rent a bulldozer and clear everything out in a couple passes, maybe a few days of moving dirt and you’d be all set. But that’s not what WE do. With Caprine Weed Eaters at work on your land, we remove hundreds, and sometimes thousands, of pounds of green foliage, twigs, and other types of vegetation, turn it into fertilizer, and replenish your soil, all without reseeding the plants that are eaten. If you have property that is heavily overgrown, is inaccessible because of rocky or steep terrain, a wetland or waterway, we believe goats could be the best option for you. They are agile on their tiny hooves and won’t change your landscape, ruin the ecosystems, or kill tons of insects, amphibians, and other delicate life.
“Just use herbicides”. Not if you know what herbicides do to mammals (that’s humans, too!). Herbicides are known to cause cancer, neurological damage, and even developmental damage to fetuses. For some lengthy but informative reading on the matter, check out this report by the National Library of Medicine, or explore and do your own research. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC9101768/
Did you know, even some trees can’t stand up to goats? No, goats will not eat an entire tree, but goats will strip the bark right off certain kinds of trees and eat it, causing the trees to die within a short, typically one season. This is perfect for invasive scrub trees such as Autumn Olive and Sumac.
Goats are natural, safe, and incredibly effective. They’ll have you saying “wow” and telling all your friends to come see what they’ve done.

“Goats are so relaxing and enjoyable to watch; it’s a kind of therapy to disconnect from the world and connect with nature instead.”
– Caprine Weed Eaters
Fire protection and Difficult Terrain

Sometimes wildland firefighters have to fight fire with fire, but recently, there’s been a rise in the forgotten tactic of fighting fire with goats.
In a single day goats eat about 5% of their body weight in forage, so for our team of goats, that means that our average adult goat eats 5lbs of forage a day. That’s significant removal of potential fuel during wildfire season
Goats are climbers from birth, and because they are nimble and amazing creatures, they can get just about anywhere. Extremely steep terrain, rock laden fields, thick brush/briars; the only thing that limits a goat is their height and the fence we contain them with. Some of our goats can reach over 6 feet up when standing on their two hind feet, and some of our goats climb trees.
